what is peer support?
Peer support is a non-clinical approach rooted in shared lived experiences. It provides guidance, education, and encouragement to individuals on their journey in recovery, in managing active use of substances, or in creating a realistic self-guided recovery plan outside of traditional recovery modalities.
WE SUPPORT AND CONNECT TO ALL PATHWAYS & MEET YOU EXACTLY WHERE YOU"RE AT
-
Our services are free. No insurance or money required.
-
We provide home-based, community-based, office-based, and telehealth sessions. No transportation required.
-
With program enrollment & consistent engagement with an assigned peer, project.ME offers various incentives to help address basic needs (daily & monthly bus passes, fuel cards, food vouchers, laundry cards, bicycle packages, and transportation scholarships) as you stabilize in your recovery, reach short term goals, and create long-term goals.
-
This is not a financial assistance program.
Our peers serve as connectors to person-centered and holistic (whole person) recovery, offering hope and empowerment without any agenda or coercion. They fully support your choices, goals, and decisions, walking alongside you through your recovery process with respect and understanding.
Peer support can complement clinical treatment or serve as an alternative, offering a more relatable and accessible path for those seeking support and ongoing, consistent connection to relevant resources.
At project.ME, we understand how discouraging it can feel to be judged while striving to make positive change. That’s why we’re committed to delivering non-judgmental, compassionate, and empathetic support—always.
Every member of our peer team has lived experience with mental health/trauma, substance use, and/or justice involvement. Coupled with professional certifications, this personal understanding allows us to better connect with and serve you on your path to recovery.
